Sweden summons GAM leaders

Four Stockholm-based leaders of the separatist Free Aceh Movement (GAM), except top leader Hassan Tiro, last week complied with a summons from the Swedish foreign ministry, a senior minister disclosed here Thursday.

Coordinating Minister for Political and Security Affairs Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono said the four were Zaini Abdullah, Bachtiar Abdullah, Muzakir and Malik Mahmood.

Tiro was absent because of ill health, Susilo said.

Susilo said the Swedish government had acted on the basis of the legal evidence provided by the Indonesian government on the role played by the GAM leadership in Sweden in leading a rebellion and in a number of terror attacks in Indonesia.

"That's the information I've received from Sweden. Hopefully, the process will continue," Susilo said. -- Antara
