Sutiyoso to sing on stage
JAKARTA (JP): City Military Commander Maj. Gen. Sutiyoso will show off his singing ability at a musical show tomorrow at the Senayan eastern parking lot.
The two-star general would sing an old local song titled Bujangan (Bachelor) with the Gigi band, Antara reported yesterday.
The show, called "Parade Musik" (Musical Parade), is to mark the 47th anniversary of the Jakarta Military Command which falls on Dec. 28.
Lt. Col. Didi Supandi, head of the information office at the Military Command, said "the Military Command is cooperating with private TV station Indosiar to arrange the event".
Sutiyoso would sing together with the band singer Armand, Didi said.
"The musical show is our expression of thanks to the Jakartans who have been helpful to us in maintaining the city's security," he said.
The show will involve 4,000 security officers and will run from 9:30 p.m to 11:30 p.m. Admission is free.
Other bands like Base Jam, WAH Band, Suara Parahyangan Group and rapper Iwa.K and Nugie will perform.
The Military Command is also holding a bazaar, a mass circumcision, and other social activities to celebrate its anniversary. (sur)
