Sutiyoso inaugurates Sardono as IKJ rector

JAKARTA: Governor Sutiyoso inaugurated dancer/choreographer Sardono W. Kusumo as rector of Jakarta Arts Institute (IKJ) on Friday.

"I hope Professor Sardono will be able to improve the management of the institute so that it can continue to produce creative and innovative artists who in the future will achieve world-class works," the governor said as quoted by the city official website beritajakarta.com.

During his speech, Sutiyoso also paid tribute to former governor Ali Sadikin who initiated the construction of Taman Ismail Marzuki arts center where IKJ campus is located. -- JP
