JAKARTA (JP): City police detectives for violent crimes
(Jatanras) shot dead a suspected motorcycle thief and arrested
two others in the early hours of Tuesday in the Pondok Aren
district of Ciledug, Tangerang.

City police chief of detectives Sr. Comr. Harry Montolalu said
the suspect, identified as Firmansyah, 20, a resident of Pondok
Kacang in the Pondok Aren district, was gunned down for resisting
arrest.

Hary said the three allegedly stole motorcycles in at least 21
places, mostly in Tangerang.

"We are questioning Edo and Sungah as several of their friends
are still at large."

Police confiscated from the suspects a stolen Yamaha RX King
motorcycle as evidence. (ylt)
