Suspected motorcycle thief mobbed

BOGOR: Police have taken into custody a severely injured man
who was attacked by a mob when he and an accomplice were caught
stealing a motorcycle in the vicinity of the Social Affairs and
Manpower Office in Cibinong, Bogor.

Zulfikar Vakaro, 23, was severely injured, while his
accomplice, Farid, 27, escaped but was later arrested.

Head of the Cibinong Police substation First Insp. Made Ari
Pradana said that two thieves were repeat offenders. Zulfikar had
been released from detention at the Bogor Police station on April
17.

"The suspects admitted to stealing 25 times," he said, adding
that they were part of a 10-member motorbike syndicate.--JP
