Suspected heroin traffickers nabbed

DENPASAR, Bali: Police here arrested two suspected drug
traffickers at a hotel in Kuta beach Sunday and seized two packs
of heroin weighing 0.4 grams.

Bali deputy police chief Col. Togar M Sianipar said Tuesday
that one of them was shot in the leg as he tried to escape.

"We don't hesitate to shoot anyone who is believed to be a
criminal and attempts to escape," he warned.

Sianipar only identified the suspects as 26-year old AA, and
21-year old R.

Antara reported that police believe the two men could be
members of a drug trafficking gang which includes three other
traffickers, one of them a woman, who were recently arrested
during a raid in Tuban, 20 kilometers south of Denpasar. (mds)
