Suspect in wife's murder in hospital

BEKASI (JP): A man in custody for allegedly killing his wife two weeks ago is being treated for mental illness at Kramat Jati Police Hospital in East Jakarta, police said.

Both the suspect, AH, 33, and the victim, Kristina Dwi Ananda, 30, were employees of the Ministry of Finance. He was admitted to the hospital a day after his wife was murdered.

"Preliminary examinations suggest the suspect has a psychological problem," Bekasi police precinct chief Lt. Col. Adjie Rustam told Antara Tuesday.

The man has tried once to commit suicide, and interrogation will not be conducted until he recovers, according to Adjie.

He was rushed to the hospital after he appeared stressed and fainted several times in his cell, Adjie said. (pan)
