Superbrands Award provides access to expanded market

Several recipients of the Superbrands Award have expressed hope that the award is expected to serve as an effective marketing tool that will provide access to an expanded market.

Several companies that received Superbrands Awards shared the view that it would boost trust from customers, because they had confidence in their quality, value and products or services.

"Being accorded Superbrands status with international recognition has definitely helped us to set up a more effective marketing strategy," said Rudolf Tjandra, head of marketing of PT Softex Indonesia, one of the recipients of this year's awards.

PT Softex Indonesia, producer of feminine hygiene products, exports to at least 50 countries, including most of Asia and parts of Africa.

With the award, hopefully the company could continue to develop knowledge about the best products for women, said Rudolf.

London-based Superbrands International has gave out its award to 25 companies for achievements in their brand-building efforts. The awards were presented in a ceremony in Jakarta recently.

Sogo Department Store's assistant to visual division manager Terence Wong said that the store included its Superbrands Seal on the store's marketing materials as soon as the company received the award in its bid to make the award more widely recognizable.

The quality and value of products prompted the Superbrands Indonesia Council to select the Sogo Department Store as one of the recipients of this year's Superbrands Award in the department store category.

Meanwhile, Panorama Travel Management Company's (TMC) managing director Rama Tirtawisata, said that Superbrands certificate showed that the company's hard work and strong commitment to customer satisfaction had been well recognized by the public at large through a survey by the Superbrands Indonesia Council.

"The award means a great challenge for us to provide better service to our customers," she said.

"There are many excellent products, brilliantly marketed, but what distinguishes a truly super brand for me is its familiarity, its trustworthiness and its commitment to quality and customer satisfaction," said another recipient who declined to be named, adding that Superbrands defined the market and created trends.
