Sunday book review

A book reviewer who can get to the core of a writer's meaning and present that compellingly to readers, is a writer's treasured friend. The authors of Pengalaman Perempuan: Pergulatan Lintas Agama have such a friend in Harry Bhaskara, who reviewed their book on Oct. 2 in this newspaper. The review describes the book as a story of five women, but a story that also transcends their individual stories to tell us something about Indonesia.

Thanks to Mr. Bhaskara's review, we who want to understand Indonesia and its interreligious and interethnic barriers have found a source of help.
