Summit stamps issued

A new series of stamps has been issued by postal company PT Pos Indonesia to mark the golden jubilee of the 1955 Asia-Africa Conference.

Some 350,000 sets of the golden jubilee stamps had been printed, which each set comprising 14 stamps with a total face value of Rp 30,000 per set. The postal company also launched 30,000 commemorative letter pads with a face value of Rp 2,500 each.

Philatelists can also get first day covers, with 4,000 being issued, with a face value of Rp 4,000 each.

The stamps include a picture of the historic Gedung Merdeka and the five heads of state who attended the first Asia-Africa Conference in 1955. --JP
