Sulawesi students get Hepatitis B

UJUNGPANDANG, South Sulawesi: Over 100 senior high school students in the mayoralty have Hepatitis B.

A recent health examination of 300 high school students in the city found out that 100 of them had Hepatitis B symptoms, the chief of the provincial health office, H. Jasmin, said yesterday.

Health officials checking on local hospitals found another 51 students undergoing medical treatment for Hepatitis B, he said.

He said the finding was "shocking" and has prompted the government to decide what action should be taken to curb the spread of the disease, Antara reported. (pan)
