Sulawesi students get Hepatitis B

UJUNGPANDANG, South Sulawesi: Over 100 senior high school
students in the mayoralty have Hepatitis B.

A recent health examination of 300 high school students in the
city found out that 100 of them had Hepatitis B symptoms, the
chief of the provincial health office, H. Jasmin, said yesterday.

Health officials checking on local hospitals found another 51
students undergoing medical treatment for Hepatitis B, he said.

He said the finding was "shocking" and has prompted the
government to decide what action should be taken to curb the
spread of the disease, Antara reported. (pan)
