Suggestion to the 'Post'

The following is a sincerely expressed sentiment: "Happy birthday The Jakarta Post. You were born to gain support from readers all over Indonesia who were keen to read candid, informative and up-to-date news.

Now you have reached your 19th year. Each year you have asked your readers what they want, especially every April 25, in order to redevelop, redefine and refurnish your every column. Your fans have increased each year, including contributors, -- even spreading all over Indonesia, including the easternmost regions, like Papua.

Although you are the only English-language newspaper in Indonesia you need to be aware that the information throughout Indonesia should be proportional, so that readers can not only read about developments in Java and Bali but also Indonesia's easternmost regions, such as Papua.

The Post does not belong to those living in Java and Bali only. On your 19th birthday you should start disseminating more information in a balanced way about other islands in Indonesia. More features on Papua, Kalimantan, Sulawesi and Sumatra etc. would be truly appreciated by your readers.

I believe that, starting this year, you will have a more balanced focus toward other islands so that tourists not only become familiarized with Java and Bali but also with information about other regions of the country.
