Students want officer dismissed

PEKANBARU, Riau: Students of the Kampar regency urged the Riau
Police Chief to dismiss local police chief Adj. Sr. Comr. Suroso
Hadi Siswoyo for allowing anarchy in the regency.

The protesting students also sought security guarantees to
ensure development programs take place in the regency.

They expressed their demands during a hearing with Riau deputy
police chief Sr. Comr. Fachruddin Bakar here on Monday.

In his response, Fachruddin said the police had no right to
dismiss officials. "But I will inform the police chief about this
demand."

He called on the students to help create peace and stability
