Students to join U.S. youth program

TANGERANG: Two Tangerang high school students will join the Youth Leadership Training Program in the United States along with four others from other provinces.

The students are Siti Azizah Rahma and Zulham Ibrahim of SMA Muhammadiyah 2 in Cipondoh, Tangerang.

Adly Rasul, a school counsellor, said on Friday the pair had passed a series of tests, including TOEFL and another about their knowledge of the host country.

He said that William J. Ryan from the US Center for Civic Education had come to the school to introduce the program.

The six students would leave on July 3 and would return on July 31, Adly said. The trip would be paid for by the school, he said. -- JP
