Students should form own party
From Kompas
The public is wondering about the fruits of the university students' struggle. They know that Sukarno lost his presidency because New Order figures made use of university students. They also know they Soeharto stepped down from his presidential seat because some political clowns were able to make use of university students. As a good citizen, I feel deeply concerned because the reform movement has yet to bear fruit. The only success seems to be a reduction in the magnitude of corruption, collusion and nepotism.
In view of the above, university students should set up their own political party to ensure that political, economic and other clowns are removed from the political arena.
And with the formation of a party, students would no longer have to stage rallies and sacrifice their lives to the security officers just to be able to enter the gates of the House of Representatives. Rather, they would enter the gates as members of the House.
