Students rally outside U.S. Embassy

JAKARTA: Hundreds of elementary school students held a peaceful demonstration in front of the U.S. Embassy on Thursday to express concerns about the fate of the world's children, particularly those living in Afghanistan and Palestine.

Led by their teachers, they bussed to the embassy carrying banners, some of which read, "Stop the War", "War (is) Not Our Future", "Just Peace, Not War", and "Save Our Brothers", Antara reported.

The students were united under the Indonesian Forum for Muslim Elementary School Students. Many of them said that they were invited to come to the rally. But they did not tell who invited them.

The rally also included prayers and collecting money said to be for helping the victimized children.--JP
