Students plan silent protest

SALATIGA, Central Java: Dozens of lecturers and students of Satyawacana Christian University say they will maintain silence throughout next week in protest over the appointment of their new rector.

The protesters said their repeated demands to the foundation which owns the university to resolve the problem have fallen on deaf ears.

The students and lecturers now plan to hold a peaceful protest by keeping silent for one week. (har/05)
