Students go after former governor
PEKANBARU, Riau: A group of students called on the Riau administration on Wednesday to investigate the wealth of former governor H. Soeripto, Antara reported.
The students from the State Islamic Institute (IAIN) said any portion of Soeripto's wealth that resulted from embezzlement should be returned to the people.
The students, who were met by Governor Saleh Djasit at his office, demanded that the administration investigate any property belonging to former president Soeharto and his family in the province.
Saleh said the administration had already addressed the question of corruption, collusion and nepotism and that any investigation would be conducted by provincial police and the attorney offices. (emb)
