Students demand cheaper fees

YOGYAKARTA: Hundreds of students in Yogyakarta staged a
protest on Tuesday in front of the office of Yogyakarta Governor
Sultan Hamengkubowono X to express their concerns about
skyrocketing university fees.

The students, from several universities in the municipality,
carried banners and posters, one of which read: "The death of
education in the city of education."

Their demand to meet with Hamengkubowono to explain their
plight was not met. -- JP
