Student nabbed with marijuana

PALEMBANG, South Sumatra: Police arrested on Thursday three university students found with envelopes of dried marijuana, Antara reported.

Police chief Col. Murawi Efendi said his men were conducting a street operation when the three students tried to get away in their van. As the police were about to overtake them, one of the students threw an envelope out of the car.

He identified the students as Ed, 19, Arw, 20, and Her, 20.

During the operation, the officers arrested some 50 other teenagers for not carrying IDs, the possession of sharp objects and other offenses.

Police also confiscated some pills and arrested 32 people suspected of drug trafficking. (swe)
