Student nabbed in drug case
BOGOR: After two weeks of surveillance, police apprehended on Friday a student of a private university, who allegedly had 20 packages of putaw (low grade heroin) in his possession.
The police said the student confessed he was about to sell the drugs to his regular buyers, mostly university and high school students.
"The suspect has long been on our list...he is a middle- ranking dealer. Now we're tracking down his supplier in Grogol, West Jakarta," head of Bogor Police precinct narcotics unit, Adj. Comr. Heryanto, told reporters on Friday.
The suspect told police he bought 100 grams of putaw for Rp 600,000 (about US$70) from the supplier.
From each gram of putaw, the suspect made 40 small packages and sold each for Rp 50,000. He said he could sell 40 packages in one day. -- JP
