Student group donates food

JAKARTA: Bina Nusantara's Community and Social Service, a
group of 23 middle and high school students, distributed 245
staple-food packages to the poor in South Grogol subdistrict,
South Jakarta on Friday.

Each package contained one kilogram of rice, one kilogram of
sugar, five packets of instant noodles and one packet of
biscuits.

Most of the families live in temporary houses and survive by
collecting cardboard and plastic containers.

This is the third activity organized by the group since its
establishment in January. The first activity, a visit to a state
elementary school to provide teaching assistance, was followed by
a futsal (indoor football) match with the students of the
elementary school. -- JP
