Student dies of drugs overdose

JAKARTA (JP): A 20-year-old university student was found dead at his home at Gandul village in Bogor late Monday after allegedly taking an overdose of drugs, a local officer has said.

Second Lt. Suharsono of Sawangan police subprecinct said Tuesday that the body of Fajar Syarif was found at 11:30 p.m. with a wire tied to one of his arms, which was full of needle marks.

The victim, he explained, was a student of a university in Jakarta but lived at the house on Jl. Pintu Air in Limo subdistrict.

Fajar's remains had been admitted to Cipto Mangunkusumo General Hospital for post-mortem examination to determine the type of drugs he had been using, Suharsono said. (bsr)
