Student dead as school collapses

BEKASI: An elementary school student was killed and three
others seriously injured as their school building in Kranji, West
Bekasi, collapsed on Thursday.

The fatality was Ridwan Ramdan, 12, a sixth grader at Bintara
II elementary school. He died on the way to the hospital.

Three other victims, Andri Indracahya, Anton Pratama and Tara
Ruchiyat were rushed to the Pondok Kopi Islamic hospital.

Andri, one of the victims, told a reporter from Warta Kota
daily that they were chatting inside the classroom when the wall
suddenly fell in on them.

The school is said to be many years old and in poor condition.
