Student arrested for fake money
MEDAN, North Sumatra: A medical student has been brought to court for counterfeiting, Antara reported yesterday.
The student, identified only as SS, allegedly printed 1,400 fake Rp 10,000 (US$4,3) bills. No reports have been issued as to the punishment sought by prosecutor M. Sihotang.
SS reportedly tried to buy some fruit with the counterfeit money at Lubuk Pakam market in Deli Serdang in February. The suspicious fruit vendor reported him to the police, who investigated SS and later confiscated his computer and a printer used to produce the bills. (31)
