Strong winds flatten 46 houses

MAGELANG, Central Java: Strong winds, which lasted for less than one hour, ripped through the village of Jogopranan, in Magelang regency, at about 2:30 p.m. on Friday, devastating 46 houses and uprooting scores of trees. No human casualties were reported.

Magelang Regent Hasyim Afandi, along with local officials, visited the affected hamlet on Saturday morning.

Three residents suffered minor head injuries when they were hit by falling tiles. They were taken to the local health center for stitches. --Antara
