Strike ends at Caltex's contractor

PEKANBARU, Riau: A strike by workers of PT Tri Patra, a major
contractor of PT Caltex Pacific Indonesia, ended on Thursday
after the company agreed to meet most of their demands, Antara
has reported.

The workers' demands included an increase in transportation
allowances, housing subsidies and other allowances.

Work resumed on Wednesday as negotiations continued to discuss
their overall demands.

The agency did not say to what extent the strike disrupted the
operation of Caltex, an American oil company which produces over
half of Indonesia's crude oil output. (01)
