Stress hazard of general election

I refer to the health issue in the June 28 Newsweek which states the damage stress wreaks on the body, not only heart disease and ulcers, but loss of memory, diminished immune function and even a particular type of obesity. The agents that cause stress are called stressors. They include everything unpleasant you want to avoid such as failing exams, losing the ballot, being fired from work, etc.

Although stress may, to some extent, provide benefits, it will finally kill us. Dr. Pamela Peeke of the University of Maryland said this was because our body was never meant to deal with chronic stress. Hence, it is prudent for us to avoid all the stresses, especially those related to the ongoing process of general election.
