Street vendor to be awarded

GARUT, West Java: An award will be given in the near future to an exemplary street vendor in Garut regency, a senior official of the Garut regency government said on Thursday.

Garut deputy regent Memo Hermawan said that the award would encourage local street vendors to be orderly. It is also aimed at encouraging vendors not to continue the bad habit of pushing people to buy their products. The award is worth Rp 2 million. -- Antara
