Storm ruins dozens of houses

BOJONEGORO, E. Java: Strong winds and torrential rains ruined
on Wednesday 30 houses in Tambakrejo district in Bojonegoro
regency, East Java, Antara reported Thursday.

A local government official reported on Thursday the storm
killed 10-year-old Yulianto. His body was found in the ruins of
his home.

According to three residents, Slamet, Samad and Karso, the
winds and rain destroyed the houses in a short time.

Survivors have asked for help from the local administration.
Bojonegoro Regent Imam Soepadi promised to take immediate actions
to help the victims of the storm that caused an estimated
financial loss of Rp 120 million (approximately US$36,00). (swe)
