Store vandalized and plundered

TANGERANG (JP): Some 20 men vandalized a store and plundered
its merchandise on Friday morning after a customer was slashed by
the store owner.

Samirin, 28, an eyewitness, said the incident happened after
Koko Prayoga, 25, a resident of Sabi village, Balongan
subdistrict, Tangerang, bought a motorcycle muffler from Sinar
Jaya Motor at Jl. Borobudur Raya No 153, Bencongan Curuk
subdistrict, Tangerang. The store, which sells motorcycle spare
parts, belongs to Budi, 30.

Since the muffler was not wrapped like the other new mufflers,
Koko asked Budi to give him one that was in its wrapper. Budi
said the muffler was new and insisted Koko take it.

Koko, however, demanded the store owner gave him one that was
in its wrapper. Budi, lost his patience and struck Koko's left
cheek with a cutter that resulted in a five-centimeter slash
wound, Samirin said.

Koko was rushed to nearby Al Suhaimi clinic.

An hour later, about 20 men came to the store looking for
Budi, who by then had fled. As they could not find Budi, the men
plundered the merchandise and destroyed everything in the store.
