Statues at the DPR/MPR building

In her article "DPR/MPR building a silent witness" published
in the March 7 edition of The Jakarta Post, Sri Wahyuni related
in detail the history of the building.

She did not mention the statue in front of the building, which
has the theme "the future". It is the work of But Muchtar of the
Bandung Institute of Technology.

Many people consider this work of art the most beautiful
modern statue in Jakarta.

The statue of the Garuda, the state's symbol, on a wall of the
main assembly hall also needs mentioning. It was created by
Gregorius Sidharta, also associated with the institute.

An article about historical buildings should not omit the
structure's art works.
