Starting 9 May, KA Argo Bromo Anggrek to Change Name to KA Anggrek

Starting 9 May 2026, KA Argo Bromo Anggrek will appear with a new identity as KA Anggrek, as stated in a post by PT KAI on Instagram viewed on Tuesday (5/5/2026). KAI explained that this name change is a simplification. KAI stated that the renaming does not intend to leave history behind. “A simplification of the name Argo Bromo Anggrek is not about abandoning history, but maturing the legacy that has long been attached to the journey of Indonesian society,” it said. The name ‘Anggrek’ is taken from the orchid flower. In the KAI post, the orchid is a plant that does not wait for perfect soil to grow. “The orchid does not wait for perfect soil to grow. It finds its own way to survive, rooted without shifting, close without damaging, soft but not fragile, calm but not weak,” it wrote. “That is where the meaning of anggrek finds its form. A name that brings elegance, firmness, and confidence in every journey,” it added. KAI also assured that this name change will not affect services. Passengers who already have tickets for KA Argo Bromo Anggrek will still be served according to the schedule. “Every passenger who has a ticket for KA Argo Bromo Anggrek can still use the ticket on KA Anggrek according to the schedule and class of service chosen,” it said.
