Starmild crushbone event on June 4-5

JAKARTA: A three-on-three basketball competition called Starmild Crushbone Basketball will be held here next week at the Bung Karno Sports complex.

Played on a wire-fenced court, the game will allow rough physical contact but not fighting.

The two-day competition, on June 4 and June 5, introduces a jackpot point system, whereby players can score five points if they shoot the ball from the area marked by a star.

Total prizes of Rp 24.5 million (US$2,722) will be up for grabs.

"This is a cross between normal three-on-three basketball and street-ball. We use different rules from those of regular basketball," Hasani Abdulgani of the organizing committee, said here on Thursday. -- JP
