Sri Indriyani breaks world record

JAKARTA (JP): Indonesia's women's weightlifter Sri Indriyani
managed to break the world record after lifting 84 kilograms in
snatch in the 48 kg division at the Indonesian Weightlifting,
Powerlifting and Bodybuilding Association (PABBSI) national
championships at Hotel Indonesia on Monday.

The snatch lift is half a kilogram heavier than the world
record made by Yuu Shafa of China, who lifted 83.5 kg in the 13th
Asian Games in Bangkok last year.

Antara reported that Sri was being prepared to compete in the
World Championships in Athens on Nov. 22.

The PABBSI secretary-general, Djoko Pramono, expressed pride
at Sri's achievement. (yan)
