S'pore offers scholarship
JAKARTA: The Singapore Ministry of Education recently granted 39 Indonesian students the ASEAN Secondary Three Scholarships enabling them to join a two-year course leading to a Singapore Cambridge General Certificate of Education examination.
This is the fourth year the scholarship has been awarded to Indonesian students. It is also offered to other member countries of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).
In the first year of 1992, nine Indonesian students were granted the scholarship. In 1993 and 1994, 18 and 29 students were awarded it, respectively.
The Indonesian students will leave for Singapore today to undergo an intensive English course before they attend their respective schools in January.(pwn)
