Sony Ericcson's new smartphones

Cellular phone company Sony Ericsson will soon release its new smartphone P990i, which will give users wide access to the internet.

Checking e-mail will be as easy as receiving phone and video calls as the new smartphone is equipped with Symbian-base and 3-G technology.

Users can edit their documents and files, be they in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point or Adobe PDF formats, using the smartphone.

They can also use the phone to record memorable moments as it is equipped with a 2-megapixel digital camera and videocam.

The price of the smartphone, which will be launched here early next year, will not be "much different" from the price of the Sony Ericcson P910 phone, according to Sony Ericcson Indonesia as reported by Kontan tabloid. The P910 phone now sells at about Rp 5 million on the local market.
