Sonata interpretation

I am referring to the article by Mr. Franki Raden published on Sept. 20, 1996.

First of all, I would like to thank Mr. Franki Raden for his article, and for perceiving qualities in my Sonata for Violin and Piano, through an execution which, also for me, was not entirely satisfactory. I would like to mention that one week before the concert in Gedung Kesenian, I rehearsed the sonata with Grace Sudargo, with myself on piano, and that I was very happy with Grace's interpretation as it was so close to my own conception. Grace's interpretation was also confirmed during the performance in Gedung Kesenian, but she was clearly disturbed by some mismatching between the violin and the piano.

I hope in the near future to have the opportunity to perform publicly with Grace, which would enable us to clearly convey to the public the intentions I put into the work.

Finally, I would like to mention what a great honor it was to me to be on the same program as Mrs. Trisutji Kamal, who I highly respect as a great composer and personality.
