Somalia refugees seek shelter

JAKARTA: Eleven Somalian asylum seekers, five of them children under five-years old, have been placed into the City's rehabilitation center in Cipayung, East Jakarta, after leaving the shelter at the UNHCR office in Kebon Sirih, Central Jakarta, on Tuesday.

Head of Central Jakarta's social welfare agency, Sangidun, said that the asylum seekers didn't have complete documents to be roaming around the city, while they said they didn't want to live in the shelter any longer.

"We sent them to the social rehabilitation center in Cipayung before we quarantine them for deportation," he said. -- JP
