Solo's riot damage totals Rp 5.4t

SURAKARTA, Central Java: An estimated Rp 5.4 billion will be needed to repair public facilities and infrastructure damaged during two days of unrest here two weeks ago.

The city administration is currently reviewing its 1998/1999 budget to include the repairs.

Antara reported yesterday that the revisions were discussed with the provincial council Wednesday.

The May 14 and May 15 riots inflicted about Rp 5 billion in losses to Singosaren shopping center here while significant damage was reported at Tirtohadi Bus Terminal, police posts and Pasar Bank.
