Soeyono inspects presidential guards

JAKARTA (JP): Armed Forces General Affairs Chief Lt. Gen. Soeyono visited the headquarters of the presidential guards yesterday on Jl. Tanah Abang, Central Jakarta.

During the three-hour visit, Soeyono, who was accompanied by the guards' commander Brig. Gen. Sugiono and his logistic deputy Maj. Bambang S, inspected facilities in the headquarters.

"I was satisfied with the modern facilities in the headquarters," Soeyono said as quoted by Antara.

He tried the shooting range and checked the condition of vehicles in the headquarters.

"I just want to see the improvement of the presidential guards, nothing else," he told reporters. (jun)
