Soeharto's health improving

JAKARTA: Former president Soeharto's health condition is getting better and no further blood transfusion is necessary, doctors said.

Members of his medical team, Pudjo Rahardjo and Winarni Hudoyo, said on Sunday doctors had stopped the blood transfusion as the hemoglobin in the former president's blood had increased to 10gr/deciliter and his intestinal problem had been improving.

Winarni said Soeharto had to undergo another couple of days of treatment in the hospital until his hemoglobin reached 12 gr/deciliter. Director of Pertamina Hospital, Sutji A. Marjono, said Soeharto should stay for another week in hospital. -- Antara
