Soeharto to leave hospital

JAKARTA: Former president Soeharto is expected to leave
hospital Wednesday after more than a week of treatment for
intestinal bleeding, a hospital official said Tuesday.

"It is planned that he will return home tomorrow (Wednesday),"
Magdalena, a spokesperson for state-owned Pertamina hospital,
said.

The 82-year-old Soeharto was admitted to hospital on April 26.
He has reportedly been suffering from a number of health problems
since being forced to step down from the presidency in May 1998.
He was treated in the same hospital in 1999 for a minor stroke
and in 2002 for heart and lung problems. -- AFP
