Soccer games

I am writing in reference to Piero Ronci's letter Soccer soothsayer (July 11). So Mr. Ronci crows "I told you so". He amazingly predicted that three players would return to play in their home countries after a spell abroad, and that an aging player was no longer up to performing in the English Premier league. Move over Nostradamus!

As for Paul Ince playing in a "dirty" way, Italian football is not exactly renowned for clean play from its nationals.

Maybe the racial abuse Ince suffered while playing in Italy has more to do with his return rather than the fact he is not good enough for Italian football as Mr. Ronci clearly infers.
