Six students caught in drug case
YOGYAKARTA: Police arrested on Wednesday at least six students for drug dealing in tourist-friendly Yogyakarta.
During a raid on their boarding houses, led by Yogyakarta Police Narcotics head First Insp. Ferro Adi Mahendrahe, police also seized 500 grams of marijuana from the suspects.
Ferro said his office was developing their investigation into the six students to uncover the drug-dealing network for marijuana and other drugs in Yogyakarta.
The suspects were identified as: Alam Gemayel, 19, Ahmad Zazili, alias Alex, 23, Candra Setiawan, 22, Penda Ardiansyah, 22, Bonie Fazius Hensen, 24, and Nurul Fatah, 24.
"Five of the six detainees are students from Sumatra and the last one is from West Kalimantan. Nurul Fatah is a buyer, while the others are distributors," Ferro said.
Nurul told investigators that he got the marijuana from "a friend" and sold it for Rp 40,000 (US$4.7) per small package. -- JP
