Six precincts to get new chiefs

JAKARTA (JP): Six of the nine police precincts in the Greater
Jakarta area would get new chiefs, said City Police Spokesman Lt.
Col. E. Aritonang yesterday.

Aritonang said the new chiefs to be installed starting this
week would be of the East, Central and South Jakarta, and
Tangerang, Depok and Harbor Police precincts.

East Jakarta Police will get Lt. Col. Syahrir Kuba, former
head of the counseling unit at the City Police Headquarters, as
their new chief replacing Lt. Col. Nanan Sukarna. Nanan will
serve as chief of the directorate of detectives at the South
Kalimantan Police Headquarters.

Outgoing Central Jakarta Police chief Lt. Col. Ibrahim will be
replaced by Lt. Col. Iman Haryatna, currently chief of the
Tangerang Police Precinct. Ibrahim will be promoted to chief of
the directorate of personnel at the Southeast Sulawesi Police
Headquarters.

Replacing Iman as new police chief in Tangerang will be Lt.
Col. Didiek S. Triwidodo, currently head of the criminology
intelligence unit at the City Police's directorate of
intelligence and security.

In South Jakarta, Lt. Col. Sisno Hadiwinoto will be replaced
by Lt. Col. Yudi Susharyanto who is now chief of the Depok Police
Precinct. Sisno will have a new position at the Maluku Police
Headquarters as chief of the directorate of community counseling.

Yudi's position in Depok will be given to Lt. Col. Fajar
Prihantoro, currently the City Police's head of the on-the-alert
unit.

Incumbent chief of Harbor Police Lt. Col. Arie Soebowo will be
replaced by Lt. Col. Edy Kuncoro, currently chief of the
Manokwari Police Headquarters. Arie will be promoted to young
inspector for special affairs at the National Police's institute
of education and training.

Meanwhile, former West Jakarta police chief, Lt. Kol. Bakat
Purwanto, was inducted yesterday as secretary to the chief of the
directorate of police detectives at the City Police Headquarters
by its chief Col. Gories Mere.

The outgoing secretary, Lt. Col. Sunaryono, will be promoted
to chief of the directorate of police detectives at the North
Sumatra Police Headquarters. (cst)
