Six nabbed for selling porn VCDs

BOGOR (JP): Police have arrested six men for renting and selling porn video compact discs (VCDs) and laser discs (LDs) in five rental stores here, a police chief said on Saturday.

Bogor Police Chief Lt. Col. Budi Gunawan said that police also confiscated 553 VCDs and 35 LDs from the stores Citra, Prisma, Taman Topi, a rental counter in Bogor Plasa and a store on Jl. Meranti.

Gunawan said the suspects were identified as Tonegin, Sundjaja, Sandyanto, A. Faisal Barana, Hasan Saibani and Hendrik Purnama.

He said the suspects were released on bail after being questioned.

"But we will complete the dossiers," he said.

The suspects were charged with violating Article 282 (3) of the Criminal Code, which carries a maximum punishment of 2 years in jail, he said.(21/jun)
