Six more players cover up ages

JAKARTA (JP): Six more players were found falsifying their ages so that they could join Bogasari U-15 league's second round, while three others were undergoing further medical checks to determine their original age, spokesman of the Soccer Association of Indonesia (PSSI) Eddi Elison said on Wednesday.

All the youngsters have been banned from competing while a team from Metro Surabaya Hospital carry out tests on the bones of the three players in question.

"Four youngsters failed the checkup by the medical team from Metro Surabaya Hospital. Their wisdom teeth have grown, so they must be above 15-years old."

Eddi said that all the youngsters may face similar treatment in the first round because the PSSI chapters that host the league have only been able, so far, to perform administrative checks rather than a thorough medical examination.

"It was the secretary-general of the PSSI who decided the sanction."

The second round of the league will be held in Jakarta and in Gresik, East Java. (ivy)
