SEMARANG, Central Java: Six Free Aceh Movement (GAM) convicts serving time in prisons in Central Java are to be freed after receiving remissions to mark Independence Day on Aug. 17. The inmates are part of 224 GAM inmates incarcerated in Central Java prisons.

The six were originally sentence to less than five years, said Soetomo Rahardjo, spokesman of Central Java's Justice and Human Rights Office.
