Six die of dengue in Central Java

TEGAL, Central Java: Six people have died of dengue fever in the past week among 474 patients admitted to two hospitals here. Most patients came from towns, the head of the health agency, Siti Rochmah said. Many still do not give full attention to sanitation, leading to the high number of cases, she said.

Residents cleaning out their own environment to reduce the potential of the aedes aegypti mosquito laying its larvae is now a priority compared to fumigation. Siti said Friday fumigation supplies were down to stocks for another two days. "We're afraid of more victims," she said. (45)
